Trauma Therapy
As humans, I believe we are naturally oriented towards healing and survival. For those of us who have experienced trauma, parts of ourselves tend to work overtime to keep us safe from perceived harm. And sometimes, these parts behave in ways that don’t feel aligned with our present-day self.
With me, therapy is the process of turning towards your inner world to integrate your whole self, and turn up the volume of your powerful intuition and wisdom. Through this process, I hope you will be empowered to move towards the life you envision for yourself.
Approach
I align with a non-pathologizing approach to therapy. This means that I view “symptoms” as traits or behaviors that our minds and bodies have adopted to protect us from further harm. Those parts of ourselves that cause us distress, or interfere with our relationships, or feel harmful... even these parts are ultimately trying to protect us as best they can.
I believe one powerful way to move towards healing is by strengthening and reclaiming our connection to our bodies. During traumatic experiences, often parts dissociate the mind from the body as a form of protection. While this helps us to survive in the moment, dissociation can happen long after the trauma has ended, keeping us out of the present moment, activating feelings from the past. My background as a certified Trauma Conscious Yoga Method teacher informs my holistic approach to mental health; the mind, body, and soul are so connected, it is essential that they work together to help us heal.
As an eclectic therapist, I pull from more than one modality. I am trained in EMDR, and am drawn towards working with Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness, but know that each client will have different needs, so we'll work together to find what fits. Lastly, I value joy and humor, so I hope that we will laugh together too!
I strive to make you feel safe, and seen, and I deeply believe in your resilience.
I am honored to work with people from all walks of life, and welcome your unique identity.
As a personal and professional practice, I always strive to prioritize advocacy, orienting towards social justice, and viewing trauma through a systemic, queer, and feminist lens. I acknowledge that cultural competency is not a destination, and commit to a lifetime of continued learning to best serve all people who may walk through my door.
I strive not to make assumptions, and to meet you exactly as you are by working within your values and beliefs. I recognize that many individuals feel overlooked, disregarded, and discriminated against within this country’s mental health system. With this in mind, I have created a pricing structure to increase access. Please scroll down to read more.

Pricing Structure
50-minute Individual Session: $165
As a private-pay therapist, I acknowledge the barriers of access that our mental health system places on individuals. If you’re curious to learn more about why I do not accept insurance, please click here.
In an attempt to increase access to therapeutic services, please consider my pricing structure below. Thoughtful, sliding scale options are rooted in economic justice from Worts & Cunning’s Green Bottle Method. You can also scroll down for a visual representation of this method.
Standard Cost: $165 per 50-minute session.
(This is my actual rate. If you choose a price below this tier, you are receiving a discount).
Supported Cost: $135-160 per 50-minute session.
(For those who are able to meet their basic needs, but have little-to-no expendable income. Therapy may qualify as a sacrifice, but it would not create hardship).
Extra Support Cost: $100-130 per 50-minute session.
(The most supported option is for those who struggle to meet basic needs, and paying for therapy would be a significant hardship).
Pay It Forward Cost: $170-200 per 50-minute session.
(Cost of therapy plus extra to help create access for others. The extra money goes towards supporting the lower tier of the sliding scale and future free and low-cost offerings. Essentially it's an opportunity to support your fellow community members).
Ultimately, I determine sliding-scale fees collaboratively, with you, on a case-by-case basis, so please feel free to continue the conversation with me!
