Resources for Transgender Texans

I acknowledge that the field of mental health is entrenched in oppressive roots which have caused individual and systemic harm, past and present. This means that those who belong to historically marginalized groups may have limited access to mental health resources, community, healthcare, and a felt sense of safety in our society.

LGBTQIA+ folks have faced systemic discrimination throughout our country’s history; unsurprisingly, the recent US election has resulted in an increase of harmful conversation around human rights, in particular transgender Texans.

Now more than ever, we are in need of connection and community. In this post, please find resources in support of access to mental healthcare. If you or someone you know is looking for an affirming therapist, please feel free to contact me for a consultation or trusted referral options. I offer a sliding scale rate to those who hold historically marginalized identities with the intention of increasing accessibility.

There’s magic in being seen by people who understand – it gives you permission to keep going. Self-expression sometimes requires other people. Becoming ourselves is a collective journey.
